C (career) L (limiting) M (move) – in case you aren’t familiar with the lingo
my boss, a reasonably attractive woman, has taken to drawing in her eyebrows
done properly, this can be a very flattering and face-enhancing trick – and I am all about making the most of your brows
done poorly and you run the risk of looking like Bette Davis’ twin sister in “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?”
unfortunately she is giving Ms. Davis a run for her money and I can’t help but stare
this is day 3 and I have managed to keep my mouth shut thus far – how long to you think my luck will last?
or … do I say something and perhaps suggest she a. gets them professionally tinted if she wants darker, more defined brows or b. she visit one of the many skilled makeup artists at Holts?

Ooh perfect! I just got ‘Baby Jane’ in my Netflix for tonight. Holla!

You referenced one of my favourite movies of all time. Well done! As for the eyebrows- that’s tough. My aunt does the same thing (although it’s looking like she’s using a sharpie marker and drawing them in while sipping her 8th vodka). It’s so hard not to stare. Good luck with not giggling.

Thank you for the chuckle. I can picture the eyebrows and you trying not to look at them!

I vote for everyone getting together and buying her a gift card for Holts… and leave it on her desk anonymously… maybe she’ll get the hint 🙂

Oh good lord that’s taking the 40’s trend a little too far!
Maybe it’s time for a group shopping trip to the M.A.C. counter. I suspect the makeup artists there would find a way of saying something…

On a serious note – do you think she would be receptive to some gentle advice? If not, the above ideas are great!

well maybe she took the hint as they are not penciled in today – it’s weird, too, as she is generally a very fashionable and chic woman
and Brandy? too funny!! my grandma was the same, though in her case it was because she plucked too vigorously when she was younger and they just never grew back (and also in her case it was Rye & Waters)

If you think she’d be grateful for the advice go for it, MAC has a fantastic eyebrow kit as does Sephora. If nothing else, its a reminder as to what you should never do!
